Turn the wheel, trace the opening… and a cute owl appears! This Owl Spin & Draw stencil is a printable drawing game: kids rotate a cardstock wheel to each number and trace one opening at a time. After 26 steps they lift the wheel and discover their owl, ready to color.

How it works

1. Print the wheel (page 3 of the PDF) on cardstock at 100% / actual size.
2. An adult cuts out the circle and the grey openings.
3. Attach the wheel to the base sheet with a small brad through the center.
4. Turn the wheel until number 1 points at the arrow and trace opening 1. Continue to 26.
5. Lift the wheel – surprise owl! Color it in.

The wheel can be reused with new base sheets again and again.

You will need

• Cardstock (about 250–300 gsm), printer, plain paper
• One small brad / paper fastener
• Fine-tip pen or sharp pencil
• Craft knife, cutting mat and scissors (adult use) or a cutting machine

Size: the wheel is 190 mm (7.5 in) across and fits on US Letter or A4.

Good to know: adult preparation (cutting) is required. PNG/JPG can be imported into cutting machines, but no SVG is included and machines were not tested – please do a test cut first. For personal and single-classroom use only; please do not share or resell the files. Ages 5+ with adult help.
